You don’t have to drink or use drugs to be in sex work — but if you do, your safety matters. Whether it’s for pleasure, coping, or client expectation, here’s how to reduce harm, keep control, and protect yourself:

Before anything goes in your body — lock in the business side first:

🧨 What If a Client Says Something Disturbing?

Some clients may:

👉Ask for paedophile roleplay ie Daddy/Son

👉Brag about abusing children or animals

👉Push non-consensual or violent fantasies

🛑 Pedophile = attraction or fantasy (mental condition)

🛑 Child Molester = action or behavior (criminal offense)

These are not okay, and you’re allowed to shut it down.

🚨 What You Can Do:

🔴 Say no firmly – “That’s not something I do. It’s illegal and disturbing.”
📲 Block the client if it feels unsafe
🧾 Report them if you feel comfortable — especially if they mention real abuse
💬 Tell someone you trust — you don’t have to carry it alone

You are not responsible for a client’s fantasies — your safety and boundaries come first.

🛡️ Your Rights & Support: For Male Sex Workers in Aotearoa NZ

⚖️Legal Protections in NZ Sex work is decriminalised in New Zealand under the Prostitution Reform Act 2003.

That means:

👉 You have the right to say NO to any service.
👉 You don’t need to register or get a license.
👉 Police can’t arrest you just for being a sex worker.
👉 You can report violence, theft, or abuse just like anyone else.

Safety First – What to Do If You’re Harmed

If a client is violent, refuses to pay, or assaults you:

📞 Call 111 in an emergency — police or ambulance.

👁️ Collect Evidence:

👉 📸 Take photos (of injuries, used condoms, the room, etc)
👉 🧬 Keep clothing, bedding, glasses, or items with DNA
👉 💬 Save messages, app convos, screenshots
👉 📝 Write down what happened — names, dates, times, what was said

⚠️ 🍹 Drink Spiking (e.g. GHB, benzos)

If you suddenly feel dizzy, lose memory, or pass out:

👉 🧪 Ask for a toxicology test ASAP at the hospital
👉 🆘 Call 111 or go to ED — GHB exits your system quickly

⚠️ Stealthing is illegal (removing a condom without consent).

It is sexual assault. You can report it.

📌 Rape & Sexual Assault Law in NZ:
Currently, the law defines rape as penetration of the vagina by a penis without consent — which excludes male victims.

👉 But you CAN report serious offences under charges like:

Sexual violation, unlawful sexual connection, or indecent assault.

🛑 New Citizen’s Arrest Rules in NZ — What You Need to Know

👮 Under the law (Crimes Act 1961, Section 35), any person can make a citizen’s arrest if:

A serious crime (punishable by prison) is happening or just happened
You believe on reasonable grounds that person committed it

👀 BUT: This can go wrong if used in the wrong situation.

🔒 How This Affects Male Sex Workers

🚨Clients or strangers might misuse this law to detain or intimidate you

🚨You might be wrongly accused of a crime just for being a sex worker

If someone tries to detain you:
👉 Stay calm
👉 Record the situation if safe
👉 Call 111 and say you are being unlawfully detained
👉 Do not resist physically unless you're in danger — that can be twisted in court

🤝 If you're wrongly detained or filmed, get legal help immediately:
👉 Call 111, Community Law or NZPC

✅ Can YOU citizen’s arrest a client?

Yes — but only in very specific cases:
👉 If a client seriously assaults you,

👉steals from you

👉 commits another imprisonable offence (like sexual violation)

You must:
✅ Tell them clearly they’re under citizen’s arrest
✅ Call 111 immediately
✅ Only use reasonable force to stop them escaping — not to punish
